Electronically isn't for individuals, only trusts and corporations.

Mine went out in September or October, I forget, should be in this thread.

Most everyone does a trust in NC because the attorney general threatened all the sheriffs with backlash if they approved individuals.

Lol, mine didn't give a shit and approved it based on a interview and knowing i passed the nuclear worker clearance and was still employed with TVA.

Kinda wish I did a trust so I could pass it on to the wife or future offspring without hassle.

There are quite a few Canadian gun owners who are pissed at the RCMP, right now. They just declared the Swiss Arms PE-90 (aka the "Classic Green") is a prohibited weapon, more than 10 years after declaring it to by an unrestricted one (meaning that a simple acquisition/possession cert. was good enough to own it). Yes, that's right, they went from simple firearm, right past restricted weapon without collecting $200.00, to prohibited in one fell swoop.

That makes all PE-90s illegal, meaning that it's a charge under the Criminal Code (what you folks would call a felony) just for owning one. They must all be surrendered to local firearms officers, with no compensation given for a more than CAN$3000.00 rifle.

It's not like there are many gang bangers converting them to full auto and using them in a drug war.

NJ is doing that with simple .22 rifles

Quote:

The New Jersey Assembly’s Law and Public Safety Committee was scheduled to hold a public hearing on Monday (postponed for snow) about a bill that reduces the maximum magazine capacity from 15 to 10.

Since the legislation covers both detachable and fixed magazines, it has the effect of to banning popular, low-caliber rifles.

The Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs gave the draft legislation to top firearms experts in the country to determine what guns would fall under the expanded ban.

They discovered that the bill would affect tube-fed, semi-automatic rifles because the magazine cannot be separated from the gun.

Thus, the experts found that at least 43 common rifles would suddenly be considered a prohibited “assault firearm,” such as the .22 caliber Marlin Model 60, Remington Nylon 66 and Winchester 190.

Just having one such gun would turn a law-abiding owner into a felon overnight.

I'm actually shocked. The Federal Government has come to the rescue of at least current owners, by grandfathering their weapons. They'll be banned from this point forward, but I'm glad to hear that previous legal owners won't be out thousands because of what seems to be a completely arbitrary decision on the part of our national police force.

*EDIT* Correction; it's just a 5 year amnesty. As of now they are still going to lose their guns. Just later, rather than immediately :(
