Many states have laws that dictate at what age you can carry a small child. I'd check into that before carrying a little one around.

I don't have any kids to be carry around nor will I, 1.) be having kids or 2.) carrying anyone around.

I would consider a side car so my Max (dog) could ride with me.

Not so much age but size. I feel they should be big enough & strong enough to hold on with their feet on the foot pegs.

I have seen clear plexiglass/lexan shields fitted to the swingarm to keep junior's feet from being caught in the wheel.

Jeff

That is the law here. They have to be able to reach the pegs.

Now at 9 she can stay on the bike for about an hour before she starts to get antsy. I put my son on the bike for the first time this summer right before his 4th birthday, I started it up, put it in first and walked him across the parking lot, he sat behind me the whole time and yelled faster faster while he bounced around. its cool that he wants to ride, but the bouncing was a definate sign that he isnt ready. Although I regularly put both of them on the mini bike and push them, my daughter keeps putting her feet down so I wont start the engine, once she gets used to the brakes I might turn it on for her.

Didnt know you were a dad. How cute. Got a pic?

did he start with the hard case as a back rest and eventually move away from it? I can see that making things a bit easier

Yea, but I had a mini backrest on my FZ1 and I have a sissy bar on my Magna.

I think I started at about 4 with my father. I was sitting on the front and using the Crankcase as a footrest. For some reason, it never melted my shoes:lol:
