Possibly. Going to inspect while I am in there. Will probably swap it for an APE manual CCT anyway.

Tires are the only thing I've replaced on my VFR. I do need to replace a fork seal and check my valve clearances. Luckly I don't have cam chains so I dont have to worry about the CCT devil that seems like a lot of bikes have problems with.

She has 34421 miles now, which 14k are mine.

Only thing about Honda's I don't like is their paint is usually pretty thin, and also their engines usually aren't as smooth as the R6 and R1.

Hondas Rock!:rockout:

I've rode a 1000rr like yours, i like it, what other hondas have you owned?

back in the day, i had an f2 and an f3, i rode the piss out of those bikes

tached1000rr 03-30-2009 11:14 PM

Had Honda z50, 70 trail, MB5, 750 four, a F3, Interceptor, F4I and the 1000rr

I have a 650 that needs restoration and a 750 hondamatic in my dad's barn.

I keep my friends ST1100 for about 2 years that I would ride occasionally to keep the battery up as well.

I got a honda CL70 I need to restore.

any bike will last forever if well maintained. its simple. but the reason honda's are so reliable is cause they're so fuggin complicated to work on sometimes and usually defy every law of reason and logic. I know, i've owned 2 so far. If they needed constant maintenance people would end up rolling into dealerships and shooting up the place. granted they've gotten better, but damn... sometimes i wonder.

:ws: man up and do the work yourself

I agree... no matter what you do... a motorcycle will fail eventually... too many moving parts... no matter how often you change the oil... the motor will eventually wear out due to friction and heat/cooling cycles... BUT... I'd say that'd be well passed 1million miles if properly maintained.

I got a well maintained honda sitting in my garage right now that just popped a motor.
