Trust me, you don't.

The whole finance thing is what got me. I can afford the bike, but I would rather save the money and pay cash later. Pretty hard to do when I have a Capital One "auto loan" packet laying on my desk good for up to $14,500. I didn't think I had this much self control. I guess I'm getting old.

:idk: financing isn't all bad, as long as you are smart about it.

Nah, but I can wait a year and pay cash money. If I financed the whole thing, the payment plus insurance would only be about $320 per month. But I promised myself I would not go in debt for something I don't really need. I am going to have to burn that blank check laying on my desk. I only have so much self control. I may just buy a disposable beater this spring, then go big next year. That's what I did last year, and I didn't lose a penny.

Anyone read the new cycle world? has a diesel KLR that the military has been using that is supposed to be in production in the next year or so. I think it said it gets like 125 mpg or something like that.

Yeah, that bikes been around about a year. The article I read last year said that it got around 95 mpg. The performance was horrible, even compared to a stock KLR. With the price of diesel, it would have to get 100 mpg + to be salable.
