Did 1144 in 21 hours

Last September 5, I had another chance to do another 1K+ mile ride. Went to Competition Accessories in Rock Hill, SC, had BBQ sandwich for lunch and rode home. The first pic is the time I left and the mileage on a Sunday morning and the second pic is when I got home Monday morning. There's more to follow so please bear with me.

Can someone please tell me why I can't post pics? I'm clicking on the Attachments, the pics uploads but won't post. Thanks.

Plus One.

That is one of the better looking Busa's I've seen.

I know you posted pics of the wheels but I don't ever recall seeing the whole bike.

Is it lowered?

Thanks. Yes, it's lowered 2 inches front and rear. I sent the forks to Traxxion Dynamics where they cut the springs, re-valved, re-sprung, then dyno-tuned on their suspension dyno. On the rear, we used Brock's lowering link.
By the way, she now has over 76K miles on her and she turned 3 years old last month.

Here's a couple more pics for you.

sleeper_red 10-29-2010 12:10 PM

Here's a couple more pics. These are old pics. I don't think I have time to post the 1K mile ride right now. Got to go in a few minutes.

I wish I can but working 6 days a week and with two kids, I don't think I have a chance.LOL

derf 10-29-2010 12:15 PM

It has always amazed me that higher mileage bikes tend to look so clean, especially when there are so many low mileage bikes that are just beat to shit.. I really think it has to do with good maintenance and overall care for the bike.

sleeper_red 10-29-2010 12:15 PM

My question is, is there something wrong with uploading using the little paper clip thing? I used to do it that way but now it won't do it. Just wondering what's going on. Thanks.

That's the key. I polish her before or after each ride depending on how much time I have. I just can't ride a dirty bike. That's just me.

sleeper_red 10-29-2010 12:19 PM

This is the only pic of the mileage I have right now but she has over 76K miles as of today.

I just follow the recommended maintenance schedule. I've never had any engine problems. The only things that were replaced were cush drives, clutch (that's because I always pull it in at the red lightt), fork seals, that's when I decided to have it lowered since the seals are going to be replaced anyway. That's about it. The rest is just the usual....oil change, plugs, the basic stuff.

Very sharp looking bike. Amazing that you have averaged 25k miles a year, yet work 6 days a week and have kids to take care of. Do you commute to work? Or do you just take random long trips when you get a chance?

I've only washed the Strom once, and I didn't really even wash it. I just gave it a quick spray and called it good. I do need to get all the bugs off the front of it at some point.

I don't commute to work because I live less than 4 miles away from it. It takes me like 6 minutes to drive to work. I ride between 4:00 and 6:00AM a lot. That's how I do it. I don't take long trips either. Kids have too many after school activities after school that's why I can't leave the family behind for days. I've only done 2 1K+ mile rides within 24 hours in the last 5 years. That's about the only long trips I've ever done.

Like I've said, riding between 4:00 and 6:00AM is how I do it. That's a little over 100 miles every time I do it. I wish I can stay out longer but I have to be at work at 7:30AM.

Particle Man 10-30-2010 02:52 PM

Too many deer at those time. Yuck

I took more than 300 pictures but it's mostly highway pics so you get the idea.

This 1K mile ride is so addicting. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I've pissed in that gas station before.
