LeeNetworX 07-29-2009 09:18 AM

No.

I consider it a trike.

Bike = 2 wheels, with or without motor.
Trike = 3 wheels, with or without motor.

Just my take on it.

mine as well.

the prefix "bi" means 2.

That being said, they're still pretty freakin' cool.

Rider 07-29-2009 09:27 AM

It's a snowmobile with wheels... so it's definitely not a bike. I'd call it a trike.

z06boy 07-29-2009 09:32 AM

NOT a bike. Fine for what they are and cool for anyone that rides them BUT definitely not a bike.

Dave 07-29-2009 09:34 AM

hells no

werd.

And for those who haven't had the displeasure of riding one? IT BLOWS! Seriously the most UN-fun thing I've ever attempted to ride.

nhgunnut 07-29-2009 11:20 AM

I don't think it is a bike. But I have to say the time I spent on it was fun. Not 15 0r 16k worth of fun but fun none the less

Trip 07-29-2009 11:38 AM

Not a bike, only acceptable for use if you are missing legs and/or arms

fnfalman 07-29-2009 11:41 AM

Pussy ass shit.

If I were disabled and have no use of my legs, I'd get the Piaggio MP3 500 scooter and put a turbo on that mutha. Or get a deployable training wheel and quickshifters for my other bikes.

Rider 07-29-2009 11:44 AM

We need a that pic of the bike we saw at Indy last year that was modded out for a guy who had no legs.

marko138 07-29-2009 11:50 AM

There's a one legged guy in my town who rides a 2 wheeled scooter. Nice guy. Sits on his cane/crutch while moving.

No more need for a trike, if you still want 2 wheels, you can have them!

Totally agree!!! It has a ton of safety software that sucks the very life out of the thing. Definitely boring!

:iagree:

That thing was the worst riding contraption in the world.
The rear tire would be constantly searching back and forth as the road crowns and heaves. Going through turns, it leans the wrong way and the steering was so heavy it wasn't funny.

It is not a bike, and not a trike, it is a raging POS.

t-homo 07-29-2009 01:23 PM

i thought it was fun, for what it was. it actually belongs to one of my friend's mom. She has that, her husband has a badass Connie 14 with every contraption you coulld think of (seriously, doppler radar on the gps) and the son has a zzr600. Pretty cool family.

Digifox 07-29-2009 01:40 PM

It's an ugly Turd that they put Three wheels on...
So No its not a bike

SteveP 07-29-2009 02:13 PM

I've seen those at bike nights before.

Awkward...

Truth!!!

And HELL NO a Can Am is no bike!

Tmall 07-29-2009 03:39 PM

Is a victory???

I'd like to see them use canam as a stepping stone to building sportbikes.

Tmall 07-29-2009 03:40 PM

Damn it! I can't edit on my phone. I was thinking Polaris, instead of Bombardier .

Gas Man 07-29-2009 04:09 PM

Victory bikes are motorcycles. Damn nice ones at that.

Tmall 07-29-2009 04:25 PM

Yup. And I was thinking the canam was made by polaris.

Which was my way of saying, I'd like to see a victory sportbike.

Gas Man 07-29-2009 04:26 PM

I think you're right on both counts!!

z06boy 07-29-2009 04:29 PM

Phenix_Rider 07-29-2009 10:35 PM

They're definitely strange, but it's not all bad. A lot like riding a dual sport after proper sportbikes- feels goofy as hell, but it's fun once you get used to it. Personally, I would like to see some changes made to the spider to make it more sportbike-rider-friendly.

They could start by giving us a handlebar mounted brake lever!!
Then lower the handlebars a touch, get rid of the ATV style footpegs... should I go on?

Gas Man 07-30-2009 12:13 AM

No you should not. Its not a motorcycle! PERIOD! Hell its got a jetski motor in it!

An old buddy of mine called the other day...hadn't talked to him in years and since I didn't get a chance to answer my phone he accused me of being too old to get the phone in time and asked if my battery was running low on my Rascal. :lol

I had never heard of a Rascal until then and had to google it.

Now the Hoveround...I have seen their crazyazz commercials.

I do like the frontend stability of the Rascal and it's the same color as my R1 !!

Fuck that. If I live a long life and end up needing assistance to get around in my golden years, I'm hoping technology will have provided us with Professor X type hovering chairs. If so, I'm getting mine fitted with rocket boosters.

itgirl 07-30-2009 08:11 PM

bike, trike, sidecar...to me they're all the same. they're all motorcycles. they're certainly not cars. so i voted yes. when you argue bike and motorcycle it all just comes down to semantics. :D

Gas Man 07-30-2009 08:15 PM

But Kim... you were topless when riding the can am... it wasn't the bike that was attracking all that attn. :D

Rangerscott 07-30-2009 09:14 PM

If the spyder is a motorcycle then my balls are worth 5 million each. Well, my right one may be worth more.
