Colin Edwards Boot Camp

http://www.texastornadobootcamp.com/

I'm taking my husband and daughters this weekend. We leave Thursday for the 4 day camp. Ok, so I'm taking 15 people - half of them are instructors of mine. It is my kind of a team building exercise.

It is all inclusive. They provide everything, including bike, gear, lodging, food, etc. We have been asked to bring halloween costumes for Saturday night. And, Freddy Spencer will be guest instructing.

To say I'm excited is an understatement...

TYEster 10-25-2011 03:28 PM

Cost of the wedding aside, these past few days have been the best in my entire 29 year life, if it got anymore awesome, my head would literally explode.

Have fun!

shmike 10-25-2011 03:37 PM

I want a full report. I'm hope our trackday org can pull off something similar!

RACER X 10-25-2011 04:05 PM

you gonna come by ?

or maybe we can come up that way.

have heard nothing but good things about that place. will CE be there?

azoomm 10-25-2011 05:02 PM

Ed, we are heading straight there on Thursday. And, might not be home until Monday... They have warned us that hangovers can happen  That is why you should come pick up your bike on Tuesday.

Colin will be there. He will probably not ride, given his physical condition.

RACER X 10-25-2011 05:04 PM

yeah, lotsa guns alky and riding, my kinda place........

i'll see what we can do, aprils got 1 party sat. and my sis lives up that way

we live way way south. 45-50mi away

weather should be awesome, but skeeters are out BAD.

Sean 10-25-2011 07:35 PM

Looking like I'm not going to make it. :( I had to fly to NOLA almost a week later than expected because certain people wouldn't get off their arses in time. No way I'd be able to get everything done in time.

skiergirl 10-26-2011 02:25 PM

Have fun! would love to join you but the wedding and honeymoon took all our money and vacation time for the rest of this year. Next time for sure...

One of my favorite pictures of the weekend. My daughter Jordan, with Colin, shooting his 50 Cal.

OK, I don't know how I missed this... I just came back to update with pictures.

Down to Earth is one way to put it. Redneck is another  He's spectacular to hang out with. I wish he weren't injured that weekend, though we probably would have flipped his side-by-side if he was healthy.

The price... I have a special relationship with the guys at Colin's camp. We're family. So, I won't talk about what we paid.

That weekend, Freddie Spencer was there with his son. Jonathan Green was also there filming the "this is Boot Camp" commercial. We had another guy floating around getting quotes from people... I just found out why. We're in this month's Sport Rider Magazine:

I HIGHLY recommend going to this school. I don't care if you haven't ever ridden on dirt bikes before. In fact, you might be better off if you haven't. Unless you are REALLY large or REALLY small, they provide everything. You literally need to bring a toothbrush, socks and underwear. They have gear, bikes, food, lodging - EVERYTHING. I walked in, they handed me a gear bag with boots, helmet, goggles, shirt, pants, pads...

It seems expensive. But, for what you get - it's worth the four days of riding with these guys.

I'm going back in May for the Women's weekend. I'm addicted.

Captain Morgan 01-16-2012 12:15 PM

May have to look into this. However, I have a number of my things on my "want" list, so it will be awhile before I save up enough money to do this.
I'd probably ride the Strom down there and kill two birds (and several states) with one stone.

Turbo Ghost 01-17-2012 08:51 AM

WOW! That looks like my kind of fun! Whenever I get some money together I'll have to attend!

azoomm 03-08-2012 10:11 AM

OK, do any of you have some ladies that want to come to the Women's camp weekend? We have a few spots open - and the discount is incredible.

That's some funny shit.

I'm doing a write up for it. I have almost too much video from the weekend. I'm trying to sort through it all. It's a good thing we've cancelled the session today at the track, I might actually get it done.

azoomm 05-17-2012 07:46 PM

OK, so life is getting in the way.

I did get a video done. For those that aren't aware, Colin has a son named Hayes. He is this tiny little thing that can't even start his little 50. But, he rides the f out of it. And, has now learned how to f with other riders. It was SUCH a difference between October and last weekend. I turned on my chest cam because I heard him enter the pavilion... we nicknamed his bike "fury"

He's SO badass.
