Amber Lamps 01-10-2010 04:53 PM

The best part will be listening to Steve Earle songs and doing that dance all week!

Depending on the honeymoon, I (and maybe the hubby) may be in if we stick to the June time frame. Fontana village sounds good to me.

Yea, I'm with you baby! Perhaps they'll even have decent beds?.... I liked the restaurant at "Two" but didn't like the food situation at DGR. Hell, maybe they even have internet...

Okay, count me in! besides, if I remember correctly, the Gap isn't THAT far away is it? We could make a day trip if people want. Yep 80 miles no big deal.

Cruzergirl 01-11-2010 10:53 AM

About 1 hour 52 minutes on some f'ing amazing roads.

the chi 01-11-2010 10:55 AM

Sounds like Copperhead will be the resounding fave on this one! Are the rates current on the webpage? And is this the correct page?

It's a little north of where we stayed last year. We can still hit some of the cool roads I know of, just come at them from a different direction.

I've been to Fontana/DG many, many times & haven't explored enough in the N-Ga area.

I'm in, if at all possible! :rockwoot:

I think I am going to go ahead and call it based on this thread and plan to have it at Copperhead.

Let us know when you can get us some rates and we can block off some rooms.

I think some people would like to see the options for rooms you will have as well.

Why on Earth would anyone here want some strangers to attend a Two Wheel Fix Rally?

Hell, there are people that are members here that I can imagine most of the population here doesn't want to attend. But, they just can't possibly stay away from somewhere they are clearly not wanted. :idk:

Good point.

psychochild28 01-11-2010 03:33 PM

You don't want to meet new riders?? Most want to join the site. My roommate's joining once she gets her bike.

Maybe you missed out on the idea that this is a Rally for Two Wheel Fix. How about this - they can join here FIRST then make their own decision about coming to the rally?

What's the matter, can't go somewhere on your own?

And I certainly would bring my wife with me but then i'd have to ride two up all weekend and what fun is that...

So a 19 hr ride and going through a raging monsoon for 5 hrs was too much for ya

I may make my route a little longer and try to get an iron butt patch. Figure my odometer had me at a little over 900 on the ride down last year so another 100 miles is doable esp if I get a break on the weather.

Bring the wife, sounds like a lot of people may be bringing SOs this time. They can go off and do something nonmoto related and you can get some single rider time in.

the chi 01-11-2010 11:06 PM

I hadnt announced it yet, but the hubby finally got himself a bike, and if we can swing it, he's super excited to be riding with me. As soon as this crappy weather warms up I'll start breaking him in.

ATTENTION, if you talk to Ericr/Rogue/Ebbs/anyone else that isn't on a bunch but may have interest in the rally, give them a call and find out if they are in or not. We want to get a decent idea of headcount soon.

Shit with dry county you will need some guys with saddle bags to get booze.

And if I come, I will again offer up my back seat to anybody's wife. Well besides Sixxxer's wife posted in that pic. DUDE, that is one ugly bitch!

Hey now... no chloroform needed. Debating if I want to take my entire shift off for this. I need a day each way for travel.

I'm no ones wife, but can I get the back seat anyway? I'll be flying in bikeless.

Sure... whatever. Its like sitting in a car... backrest, arm rests, headsets, stereo, stereo and intercomm controls, floor boards instead of pegs..

I think a few guys may be trailering/driving down so that may help, but what i did learn from the NE rally is that withthe hard bags, tail bag and tank bag I can carry about 2 cases of beer :rockwoot:

No worries on the saddle bags fellas. The county line is just 5 miles, and we offer delivery.

Gina, June isn't a good month for me to be travelling - I have the girls all month. But, it's on my radar. I get my schedule with BMW in February - if someone would like to work on the local BMW dealer to get the trucks out there.... I could most certainly make the trip. Trip?? Hook a girl up, and I'll have a few conversations

That will work for me, but I probably won't roll out til thursday sometime. May work a half shift that day, undecided right now. If you come down, I may take the whole day off.

What would be the local dealership for blairsville, I have no idea. Copperhead will have to hook us both up.
