I'd rather oust any day of the week.

tached1000rr 07-26-2009 04:17 PM

It was fucked up!

karl_1052 07-26-2009 04:25 PM

It was an accident.

I am not worried, Spies will still win the championship.

Dave 07-26-2009 04:27 PM

at least he tried to apologise!

Ducati Diva 07-26-2009 06:32 PM

Holy shit!!! I was watching this as I read this post. I love Ben pointing at his head "Damn it man frackin THINK!"
It was just racing and at least frabrizio tried to apologize and man up to being totally stupid.

fnfalman 07-26-2009 07:38 PM

That was a dumb move by Fabio, but shit happens and that's racing.

The Emperor gave Spies a bit of a push at the end of Race 2.

Pedro almost did it again to Dovi early in the GP race.

Tardozzi says ' Michelle, if you want a ride next year Haga must winna de championship!'

Team orders to take Spies out maybe so Haga can win the Championship? It wouldn't be too far fetched. Fabrizio is 3rd in the chanpionship but does he really have a chance to win? No.

I hate that cocksucker Biaggi but it was a good win for the Ape.

that's what makes him so boring during interviews.

He's very good - no question - but his personality reminds me of a pet goldfish.

smileyman 07-27-2009 10:53 AM

Spies is only like that for the press. He loosens up among friends. However he is completely focused on the number 1 plate and it would be good to stamp a good ole USA on that regardless of his quote worthiness or media charm.

For me, the nationality of the racer doesn't matter. I am rooting for the one that has talent on the track and personality off the track (on camera too).

This year I'll stick with Haga (the crazy Motherf%&#@)

smileyman 07-27-2009 11:34 AM

Oh I have always been a Haga fan, but I didnt club race with him and watch him mature into a world level competitor. I wish he were heathy and was giving Spies hell. He really does deserve a championship of his own...

Nori really does deserve a championship, and i know he moved to Ducati to accomplish that.... but its gonna be really ironic when Spies shows up and replaces him and wins one with Yamaha.

ya know from watching the clip a couple times it seems to me fab tried an intimidation move and spies refused to give an inch. Can def see when fab realises the lines were gonna cross and tries for some lean he didnt have. wondering if anyone saw the same thing.

That's what I've been thinking all along...if Haga loses to someone on a Yamaha I bet a lot of Japanese fans will be .

I like Haga but am pulling for Spies all the way.

Spies likes to have fun...here's a blurry shot of him I got at VIR last year putting on his "O" face.

I agree spies is all business at work which I respect but there is a fun side to him. We were also at VIR last year. My daughter wanted to get his autograph so we stood in the LONG line so she could meet him. When we got there she was so shy she hid behind my back. Ben stood up reached around me and tickled her. He said something like see I don't bite I tickle  I thought that was funny and sweet. My daughter now watches every race and screams at the TV for "Her Ben" to win

Fab wasn't nearly far enough forward for Ben to yield. Fab came in hot from way far back. Even if he hadn't tucked the front he would have hit Ben, as Ben wouldn't have been able to yield. No warning.

smileyman 07-29-2009 03:06 PM

Even the Ducati garage was appalled by the error and punished Fabrizio by limiting his linguini at supper!

I think what stood out was Ben is too focused on winning the next race and the next race to care or even comment. That is why he will win the champoinship, he immediately addresses the next item he can improve rather than wasting time on what has already happened.

fnfalman 07-29-2009 06:21 PM

I want Ben to win because I want an American to kick ass at WSBK. I'm hoping for Biaggi to win more just so that Aprilia gets a good showing.

Agreed! There's no way Ben could have "yielded" the position. Fabrizio basically blind sided him.

Dave 07-29-2009 09:02 PM

alright, i'll yield any possiblity of spies carrying partial blame but im still convinced fab went for an intimidator there

zer0t 07-30-2009 08:15 AM

Spies handled it ok and I think he will still win the championship. However, Fabrizio was being aggressive and it was a bad move going to the inside and losing the front tire. I think he did a good thing by taking the blame and apologizing.

The best part was between races when he held up the sign that say, "I love Ben" or something like that.

I think with the way Biaggi has been handling that bike, Aprilia has made a damn good showing!

true story! im really interested in how he does next year and who aprilia picks to back him up. really like to see rea on there, also heard rumors that colin edwards has been talking to them. i suppose if its true hes gonna have to start keeping people away from tuonos instead of vmaxes :lmao:

zer0t 07-30-2009 10:44 PM

I hope Aprilia does well and stays in business. More competition to make all products better and more selection if I ever have enough money for one.

Dave 07-31-2009 01:30 AM

i dont think staying in business is a problem under piaggio. btw, wheres morris county?
