Picked Her Up Yesterday

Drove through hours of shit weather to get home yesterday so had to clean her today and give her a once over. Will be riding her to work this week to get to know her better before taking her into the mountains.

Sean 06-06-2010 07:06 PM

Ooh, is that the limited edition whatchamacallit?

LeeNetworX 06-06-2010 07:35 PM

Not the special edition - that one has orange-red lettering, stripes on the rims, etc. Doesn't do it for me.

However, looking at these pics gives me wood.

tached1000rr 06-06-2010 07:50 PM

congrats!

njchopper87 06-06-2010 08:05 PM

Rider 06-07-2010 09:26 AM

Nice looking bike. I don't care much for the headlights thought but that can be easily fixed. Head on the dual headlights look nice but the side view is a little to be desired.

No fucking way. The bug eye looks is what the ST is all about, son.

Gas Man 06-07-2010 09:42 AM

Agrreed with my bro'ski mark.

KSGregman 06-07-2010 09:54 AM

Awesome....let the hooligan-ism begin. That bike is the pwnage.

shmike 06-07-2010 10:02 AM

She's sexy, Lee.

Do yourself a favor and get some Tankslapper or something similar on the tank to protect it.

the chi 06-07-2010 10:07 AM

Very nice bike. Saw one in gray this weekend, something about those is just dead sexy.

z06boy 06-07-2010 10:13 AM

Very nice...congrats. My best friend rides an 05 S3.

He had narrowed his choices down to that and an RC 51.

They did a great job on the install. :dthumb:

I went back and looked at the pics a second time and still can't see it!

Thought I'd ask since this was brought up. Are these tank slappers? They were on when I bought her.

Rangerscott 06-07-2010 07:31 PM

The SSSA is sexy and even sexier with the uni hole wheel. The only thing that's kinda weird is looking at the side pic; the gauge cluster looks too far away.

Yep. Looks like a bit of wax build up around the edges.

Ya. Its a bitch getting it out and not scratching the paint. Better than dirt build though.

True. Tried using a Q-Tip or something similar around the edges?

Adeptus_Minor 06-08-2010 12:27 AM

Nice bike, man. :dthumb:

Rangerscott 06-08-2010 01:04 AM

I bet it's nice to get a used bike with an exhaust system already on it. Did you get any the stock cans too?

Homeslice 06-08-2010 01:12 AM

All the focus these days seems to be on the STREET Triple. Fuck that shit. Doesn't look half as good as this.

Provided they aren't upping the asking price, expecting you to compensate them for their accessorizing.

101lifts2 06-08-2010 01:59 AM

Wow...impressed cause I usually don't care for the looks of naked bikes (minus the Buells).

? It's a new '09 model - had 17 miles on the odometer. Came from the factory with the Arrow cans as part of an accessory package. Only thing I added so far was the bar end mirrors and the rear wheel nut covers.

Homeslice 06-08-2010 08:49 AM

Does it have catylitic converters, or is the system sold as "race-only?

Soft tooth brush and Dawn.

It's street legal (not sure about CA); however, I'm thinking it might not pass the maximum dB level restrictions of some areas. :lol

The package from the factory came with the exhaust, belly pan, gel seat, rear seat cowl and bug screen.

I demod that same package last summer. Killer machine...but I didn't think it was very loud even with the Arrows.

.

So it has cats? Just curious where they are, since they are usually in the OEM cans, but aftermarket companies don't make cat converters yet.

When they let you demo it, did you get above 5K RPMs? That's when I feel it gets loud.

I believe the cat is part of the header, down at the bottom.

You are in desperate need of a FE kit. Looks tits from that angle though.

I don't know. Kind of like the odd tail on it. I'm not sure I'll be doing a FE on this bike. It's typically one of the first things I do but I may decline doing so with the S3.

Nice. Maybe I'm just getting old then, since I feel it's pretty loud.

Homeslice 06-08-2010 09:41 AM

Rear fender looks fine in the 4th pic, but in the 3rd pic it's a bit too obvious.

Regardless, cutting it is only necessary if you're still in your 20's.

jtemple 06-08-2010 10:28 AM

Badass!

Cass 06-08-2010 10:52 AM

teh secks.

I rode a street triple a couple months back, it was beawesome. The speed triple was a full inch taller at the seat, which made me uncomfortable so I declined the ride :( short inseam ftgdl

You said nut covers. :lol

Maybe I shouldn't have, but I used a toothpick to clean around my decals and such.

Love the bike!

LeeNetworX 07-15-2010 06:47 PM

UPDATE

I love this freaking bike.

/UPDATE

Homeslice 07-15-2010 08:14 PM

The 4th picture in your first post is still the best looking bike shot ever posted on this forum IMO. I'd buy that bike based on looks alone, even though I don't normally like that type of wind-in-your-chest riding position.

Rangerscott 07-20-2010 12:27 AM

The color scheme makes it look like a bastard child.
