No I went down. Don't know why he said save.

shmike 08-11-2010 09:27 AM

You had a few nice drifts right before the crash.

Looks fun.

ontwo 08-11-2010 10:30 AM

Damn that looks like fun

Trip 08-11-2010 10:38 AM

It's insanely fun. All the fun you have at track days, multiply that by 100. There is no fear to do something retarded or make a stupid pass on these. You can wreck the snot out of them and pick it up and do it again with only minimal cosmetic scratches. Getting hurt is not real common in a wreck. You can run 120% every lap. They are so much cheaper than track days and big bikes. Speeds are fast for these little bikes. My only negative is I don't get to do it enough.

 Was the big guy riding a pink/purple one? And tell me that wasnt a basket on the front!

Love the neons tho, very classy. Looks like a total blast.

That's Kelly, he works with me. Yeah that's a basket on his bike. It was originally Zee's fiddy and he bought it from her and left it that way. We use his basket to pick up the parts we lose off the bikes.

(I didn't know if they'd appreciate direct photo links or not.)

Avatard 08-11-2010 02:09 PM

Trip, if that's you in the black leathers, you're the only one pushing hard.

Everyone else looks like they're out on a Sunday drive. You're riding it like you stole it.

THAT'S racing.

Kudos, old man.

I am the guy at the end of the vid screwing around trying to drift. Pretty much the last three turn scenes, that's me.

Thanks, if that's who you were refering too.

Avatard 08-11-2010 02:28 PM

Yep, I saw you baking it pretty hard somewhere about halfway in the vid too.

Are you running mini-motard tires or just let the knobs get worn down enough to "lean" it?

And what kinda $$$ and mods do you have put into one to get to handle like such?

I assume tires, tall bars/seat/shock?

I run 10" scooter slicks

You can get one built on planetminis.com for about $1000, or you can get a new chinese for around the same price, but I like running a honda because that's the series that's the most fun here.

If you go from stock, you need an engine kit (88cc is what I have), bars, seat, shock, harder fork legs/springs/delrin bushings to get a good base. I also got an inner rotor, disc brakes, manual clutch.

Sounds like you guys need to get on some real tracks. Remember...we do actually race these things. :D www.semra.org ;)

THIS WEEKEND AT CMP!!!! Can't wait. :D

I wish, but don't have the time. They are building a track near us though specifically for us.

Clay 08-13-2010 08:57 AM

Where would that be? They're building an actual "mini" track like a kart track? Or just taking some part of a parking lot and adding a little something on...

a mini motard/kart specific track, location is secret due to potential neighbor issues til it's finished and built. I have raced on the layout already in bulldozed dirt with my knobbies. It's going to be awesome. It's being done in stages though, so it could be awhile before it's finished.

caveman 08-13-2010 10:16 AM

I want one for me and my son. That would be a total blast. I would love to get into that, problem is there prolly isn't any around my area.

What you think Chris should we start this in our area if not already done?

This sounds very cool !!

Clay 08-13-2010 12:49 PM

How about a general area... LOL Are you talking about the gap area? You don't list your location. In short...will it be a real track worthy of hosting a weekend of real racing...or just something that's being built for the fun of friends and family? SEMRA is always looking out for new tracks!

Real racing, it will be a quality facilty and the guy wants to expand once he gets the first course going. It will be between Chattanooga and Knoxville.

Clay 08-13-2010 01:00 PM

Ahh man, now you've gone and got my hopes up. I'm a knoxville native...bro still lives there. Having a venue there would be unreal. With all the "hopes" we've been thru in "big bike" racing and tracks that were a sure thing that never happened... well, here's to hoping. :D

Don't spread this around, the guy is keeping it hush hush. He doesn't want to chance neighbor resistance til he has reached a certain deadline that will make it harder for anyone to try to push him out. He's got a great plan and we should see some good asphalt kart/mini motard racing in this area.

Clay 08-17-2010 07:23 AM

I won't be saying anything to anyone. If it does really happen and he wants some real races held there, let me know and we'll no doubt make it happen. :)

Trip 08-17-2010 08:31 AM

I am going to go down there soon and checkout progress. He was thinking about opening it up for faster karts, I am going to try and talk him back down to fiddies. LOL

Clay 08-17-2010 08:45 AM

I'm thinkin' about mini road racing. Take a look at the thread I'm posting up here in a few mins of the SEMRA race this past weekend @ CMP. That's what I'm talkin' 'bout. :D
