Well, after 206k miles on my bike..... I think the time has come...

...To FINALLY do my first freakin' trackday already!!! :whatwhat::rockwoot: Time to see what the ol' girl's still got in her..... hopefully she doesn't blow up, hahah

But yea, some arm twisting was involved by my buddy being I wasn't planning on doing any trackdays until later this summer, but it was really too good of a deal to pass up

I must say, I'm pretty excited! Should be a good time  Doing it at Palm Beach Int'l Raceway in West Palm Beach, FL on the 20th of this month. I'm gonna feel like a n00b all over again!

pauldun170 02-10-2011 09:36 PM

As I said on FB - you will be addicted.

derf 02-10-2011 09:42 PM

Sweet grab some pictures of it while youre out there.

The real question is: Are you gonna ride to and from the track?

Oh there definitely will be pics! You guys know me, I can't do anything without snapping tons of pics, lol

And no, this is one roadtrip the bike is actually going on the trailer. I kinda have to this time cuz I gotta take the 3 dogs with as well, so driving the trusty ol' Accord towing the bike

Or is he gonna show up on the 200k F4i towing the 400k Accord?

Homeslice 02-10-2011 11:56 PM

So much for the tools who think bikes are worn out after only 20K miles.....

Like as if a Japanese bike's engine isn't built to the same tolerances & standards as a car's.......false....

derf 02-11-2011 12:46 AM

Kerrys bike was pretty worn out aftera few thousand miles, it was kust tired and not worth more than a few g's. Damn suzuki and their 07 gsxrs

Dnyce 02-11-2011 02:45 AM

fuckin honda posterboy right there, they oughta put him in a commercial
400k+ car, towing a 200+ bike, to a racetrack of all places lol

The thread title caught me out too. I thought his CBR was getting the Old Yeller treatment.

But they rev. three times as high, so you inherently have more wear. Not to mention most aren't exactly "easy on the bike".

My raggedy old wore-out gixxer is just a baby @ 44k!

I'll email you info on that ride. You'll have a GREAT new
local riding buddy if you come meet Brent!

Somehow I doubt that. Both counts.

thirdgenlxi 02-22-2011 02:38 AM

Ohhh man.... yea I'm hooked. They weren't joking when they said one hit of the trackpipe was all it took! LOL Must..... have...... more...

Seriously I had so much fun.... learned a whole lot and had a great time in the process. I think I'll be back, hahah. I may have alot of street experience but this was something totally new, so I'm back to being a total n00b again and in learning mode. I was slow and my body positioning was horrid (they said I had the lines down great though), but hey that's what trackdays are for, to learn, right? I got lots of help from other people at the track and by the end of the day had already made some good improvements

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y15...i/13a96a48.jpg

Not much as I didn't push it too hard on a sport touring tire, but still had fun and got a few dingleberries.... ol' girl has still got some spunk (she ran great & didn't miss a beat all day!)

More pics to follow later on... I'm off to pass out, lol.... I am beyond exhausted, lol. As if the trackday itself didn't make me sore enough, sitting in my car for 700 more miles back home the next day definitely didn't help any, hahah

jalaan1 02-22-2011 07:12 PM

nice!

good for you.

i'm always impressed/interested by reading what the 'ol girl is up to after so many miles.

Particle Man 02-22-2011 08:16 PM

Awesome pics - bike looks great!

racedoll 02-22-2011 08:45 PM

I've had one for awhile now.... got it from a buddy of mine that I used to work with for a killer deal ($150) when he got out of racing. It's the wrong color (he had a blue R1), but for the price I didn't care, lol

Kerry_129 02-23-2011 09:15 PM

Nice - glad you had a good hit off the track-pipe!

Didn't blow up either Honda either....

Hahaha hell no both ran like champs! The car, towing the bike on the trailer, plus 3 dogs and all their supplies, all my gear and supplies, at 75-80 MPH on the highway and she pulled off 27.58 MPG. I mean that's just hard to beat!

Oh yea and she turned 409k on the way back, hehe

Good job jarod.

Consider getting a rise hitch to level out that trailer a bit if you're gg to run tt setup more often.
