MotoGP round 1 Qatar 03/20/11 **SPOILERS**

The wait is over, the new season is here...Lot's of story lines going into race 1...
--Is Rossi sandbagging, or is he really hurting? And is the Duc just not rideable?
--Will Lorenzo be as great as he was last year?
--Is Stoner as good, and as fast as pre-season testing?
--Pedrosa - see Stoner
--Spies - can he attain alien status?
--Hayden - even with Val and Jer in his corner, I don't see him in the top 5
--Simoncelli, Dovizioso, Edwards, Bautista, DePuniet, and the rest are just ancillary characters in a play about aliens

So, let's race!

The Doctor will pass them all and will vy with Lorenzo/Pedrosa for 3rd place. He won't take 1st or 2nd in this race.

No chance....I've watched all 3 free practices and the qualifying practice today....he's no where NEAR podium pace.

The bike doesn't currently suit him and they are saying it will be at least the 3rd race of the season before they get the front end parts from the factory that Rossi says he needs to ride the bike competitively.

1) Stoner (unless he fucks up and bins it from the lead....again)
2) Pedrosa
3) Spies or Lorenzo

Utorrent or any other good bittorrent client and some decent media playing software that can handle all forms of .avi and .mkv.

Are you still getting torrents? I forget if you're on the list

You're on mac iirc

1...2...3....who called it? ME. :LMAO:

The Hondas have everyone covered so far. :/

Porkchop 03-21-2011 02:17 AM

Stoner looked good. Honda looked great. Simoncelli and Spies could be interesting. Rossi didnt look competitive. Hayden looked like horse shit. Captain highside retured. And Elias had a big warm welcome back to gp with some asphalt cereal.

Overall, good race and frickin amazing in 720p.... :rockwoot:

No I thought oil or fluids too.

derf 03-21-2011 11:54 AM

I thought that too, but I would also think they would stop the race and clean up

marko138 03-21-2011 01:14 PM

Two words....

Andrea Iannone

That kid went from 16th on the grid 2 2nd place in 7 laps....he is a brilliant talent. I've watched the Moto2 race twice already...just amazing.

i really liked seeing yuki takahashi and a few others wearing tomizawa's 48. yuki had a couple good battles, so did deangelis on that goofy little bike of his

De Angelis roughed Yuki up on the last lap...pretty hard pass in my estimation..but they shook hands on the cooldown lap so it must have been all good.

You know...I like Dovi...but...I question whether he has the aggressiveness to take the next step, you know what I mean? He seems fast and comfortable riding in his own bubble....but seems to wilt some when the gloves come off.

It's unfortunate that Hector Barbera is on a non competitive bike....I'd LOVE LOVE to see him at the front....he doesn't give a shit and I could see him REALLY getting under the skin of Pedrosa and Lorenzo both. :lmao:

He really doesn't. Dovi is a test rider. Haven't payed enough attention to barbera but yeah I could see him as another simoncelli on the right equipment. How'd you guys feel about abraham? I know daddy bought his way in but he has been a pleasant surprise with some rough glimmers of talent. Very likely would have beaten capirossi and elias (possibly depuniet) had they not retired. Really wonder how he'd look on the honda

Hector Barbera was a known agitator in the 250 class....he honestly doesn't give a shit about "playing nice"....he would have likely made MotoGP sooner but took a hard crash 2 years ago and broke his back....it was a long way back to health and confidence for him. He has the skill to run at the front...for a little while anyway....before the red fog sets in and he goes nuts on whoever happens to be dicing with him at that moment. :lmao:

I'm gonna start watching Andrea Iannone full time....he was a revelation last year in Moto2....everyone on the grid thought he had an illegal bike mods as he was sooooo much faster than everyone else....the bike got inspected multiple times and it always passed....and first race out of the box this season he goes from 16th to 2nd in less than half race distance. The kid is a prodigy.
