A little something to set my bike apart, part 1.
 

Got a buddy here in Vegas that just picked up a '09 red/white R6. The thing about it is that it's the only one that comes with black forks. Good thing is that he only intends to race it and couldn't care less what color forks he has, so he's gonna swap my gold ones for his black ones. Reason is because my gold ones don't even come close to matching my gold wheels.

So here's the bike as it sits now. COme Friday at 2pm it'll have the new black ones on it and I'll get the before/after pics up. The black ones will totally complete the looks and set the bike apart from the rest a bit.

How is it weird, they're both stock forks. It would make sense they're rated the same.

it's weird cause usually they use the same colored forks unless it's on a "limited" or special edition bike... where they have some sort of advantage... :idk:

Wheels are staying. I still have the Anny wheels for track, too.

yea a kid here did the same thing. He works at Ron Ayers and some knuckle head wrecked his R6 so he quick swapped the forks before the salvage man came...:whistle:

I know you are shopping exhausts but I'd consider powdercoat or high temp black painting that canister immediately! The gold on the forks may have been a little off but that silver is totally alone and out of place on that bike! Oh and don't forget the rearsets,although I'm sure that you won't! Man,nice looking bike Dlit!!!

Nope... diff colors, diff color forks. From 06+, they have had black forks and gold forks to go with the diff colored bikes.

The forks and wheels look like they match in the first pic but if they don't as you stated then I agree...black tubes will look alot better imho.

Painting the stock can sounds like a winner too. I may do that on the wife's R6.

The '08's wheels are ugly ass fuck.

I painted them. I love that color and just need to find out how to powder coat them that color because my Sidi's keep chipping them.

I agree the wheels on the R1 and R6 don't looks that good in the gold. What's interesting is the FZ1 for 08 has gold wheels that are a lighter, more "gold" color and while they still don't match the color of the fork tubes, they're a better looking gold.
