marko138 03-11-2008 10:46 AM

Nice man. Nice. Now get them installed.

Vettezilla (Impala Balko) 03-11-2008 10:54 AM

where did you get them from

Audiomechanic 03-13-2008 07:26 PM

www.mrcycles.com

Dropped about 590 bux for just those 3 pieces. Wrecks are expensive. :(

Can't complain about the service from Mrcycles. I called them instead of using their site. Sales guy was helpful and friendly and the parts came when he described and as he described. Good service thar.

I hate installing GSXR plastics. My buddy went down one day and I told him that I would install his plastics if he claims it...to save some money. He claimed it, I installed his whole right side, upper and the gas tank cover thing on the front of it. Took forever. It was maintly the upper I had trouble with. The sides aren't too bad though.

NONE_too_SOFT 03-13-2008 08:06 PM

stator cover?

DLIT 03-13-2008 08:18 PM

Good frame sliders woulda helped in that case.

Audiomechanic 03-15-2008 11:18 AM

That is true/ Frame sliders would have. I crashed early on in owning the bike before I had the moola to put FS's on. Oh well.

The stator cover is getting painted today. I was able to sand the crap out of it and got all fo the scratches and gashes out. Just gotta paint it, reinstall, finish detailing with the said panels off, reinstall, inspect, take pics, and post up.

I'll be in Puerto Rico all next week so I won't post it til next weekend.

vabarber2 03-15-2008 11:25 AM

Congrats! You'll be back to new in no time then! Have a ball in PR!!

Audiomechanic 03-15-2008 04:48 PM

Thanks, man. I'll be working the whole time so, dunno if I'll have time or strength to. I'm hoping it's going to be open overtime...if so, I'm injecting coffee straight into the veins and working round the clock.

BTW, Vabs, you are the most excited forum member I have ever seen. :dthumb:

I'm waiting on the 1st coat of paint to dry on the cover. Once I get a few coats on, I'll get some pics of the cover up. It's lookin pretty good so far.

Yeah, I'm excited about anything 2wheel cause Im in a hell hole so this place and everything we talk about is like heven!! I cant wait to get back and ride! I'll spent the 1st week riding, the 2nd week drunk n sexn! And then try to mix the 2 from then on out, though never riding after drinking!!

Audiomechanic 03-16-2008 09:40 AM

Yea, never drink and ride. Now if you find a way to sex 'n ride, I'll give you extra cool points for film proof!

Not bad for a rattle can on the engine cover.

Before:

After:

It's not perfect but most of the imperfections will be covered once the plastics are reinstalled. I used High gloss enamyl that is washable.

marko138 03-25-2008 10:40 AM

Not a bad job there, boss.

JoJoYZF 03-25-2008 02:00 PM

Definitely looks 1000 times better than the scratches.

I agree. It's a washable enamel as well so it won't come off after the first bike wash (hopefully not after 100 bikes washes either). Took 2 coats of primer and 4 coats of the enamel. I'm doin some waxing on the body panels tonight while every thing's apart. That way I can get to the nooks and crannies that I couldn't on the bike.

Mr Lefty 03-26-2008 07:38 AM

shit looks good! nice job

Cutty72 03-26-2008 10:45 AM

Good work, be lookin like new in no time

Audiomechanic 03-29-2008 02:41 PM

Mr Lefty 03-29-2008 09:06 PM

damn bro... I'm sorry you have to sell her... that sucks ASS

Audiomechanic 03-30-2008 09:21 AM

It does. But debt sucks worse than that.

At least I have found a way to budget a replacement bike (a MUCH cheaper one) and pay down debts at the same time. I'll be in better shape financially after she sells.

I just hope she goes to a track nut who's gonna take her out for romantic afternoons on the asphault.

Mr Lefty 03-30-2008 09:28 AM

no doubt! good luck with the sale!

I might already have it sold! I guy stopped by today and inspected it. He stopped by on his own bike and handed me an earnest check so I let him take the gix for a ride. He said he's coming back tomorrow with cash. 7K. Not bad. I can do some debt damage with that!

Mr Lefty 03-30-2008 08:53 PM

Nice!

Cutty72 03-31-2008 04:37 PM

Congrats.

Audiomechanic 03-31-2008 08:21 PM

Well, it happened today. I saw her ride off with another person in the saddle. Being responsible blows.

Cutty72 03-31-2008 09:06 PM

Congrats on the sale!

Don't worry, it will help you securely back in the saddle soon enough

dReWpY 03-31-2008 09:55 PM

i hate watching them leave

Audiomechanic 03-31-2008 11:07 PM

I know. He missed a shift down the block too! I wanted to run after him and yell "GTF off the bike! I'm taking her back!!!"

Mr Lefty 03-31-2008 11:17 PM

damn... at least he didn't lay it down in front of ya... that would have been the worst

marko138 04-01-2008 10:49 AM

Too bad she's gone.

JoJoYZF 04-01-2008 11:58 AM

Sorry it had to go. Now whats in your mind as a replacement once you can afford it?

Audiomechanic 04-01-2008 03:01 PM

I'm thinking about a Honda Magna. BEFORE I GET BURNED, hear me out. 1) It's comfortable. Bout the only thing to do 'round H-town is sit in traffic or ride in a straight line. 2) I can pick one up for 3K in good shape. 3) It's FAST! If I'm going for a cruiser, I want one with some nuts. 4) It handles pretty well for a cruiser for those times when I do happen upon one of the 4 curves in SE Texas.

My dad used to own one. They last forever and I put more miles on his than he did. It's an all around decent bike and one that affordable. Gotta love a V4.

If I lived in CO or the like, I'd be after an SV1000S but I live in a giant drag strip so...

Trip 04-01-2008 03:15 PM

Hey, get what works for you. As long as it's two wheels, that is. :)
