Finally!!!

Alright, so it finally happened. I made the jump......

1999 Yamaha R6- Custom burnt orange paint, jetted, K&N filter, carbon fiber intake covers, double bubble windshield, Yoshi pipe, custom levers with bullets in them? 19k on the clock. Guy needed money for school bad, so i got it for a steal....

One little blemish... look below and to the right of the bar end. Easily fixable with a pair of factory yamaha mid-fairings in that weird black color used on the R6 a year or two later. It'll look good. Disregard the girl.... she doesnt come with the bike....

I fucking love burnt orange..... it sure caught my eye....

Yea its funny if you look at the pic with his friends R6 in it too. You can see the kickstand angle is different. I dont know if he did that or the original owner did. Cant you just tighten that up... i dont want it falling over.

You have no idea... five years of waiting has finally ended... now i have to wait for this goddamn winter to end. Fuck!!!

For sure, ill be up north alot in the summer. In grafton at my g-mas, and in port clinton at the lakehouse...

Honestly i didnt need something this nice or fast. But this was such a steal I honestly could.... not..... pass this up!

marko138 01-14-2009 08:59 AM

Thats the way to do it....find someone who HAS to get rid of the bike NOW...and take advantage. Thats how I got my Buell at such a steal. Congrats man. Be safe. Don't get crazy.

nice bike... looks like its missing the front turn signal lights.. are they integrated somewhere else...

HRCNICK11 01-14-2009 10:53 AM

Nice bike be sure to check the steering head near the steering stop they cracked real easy there if the bike hit the ground. I don't want to ruin your day but if its cracked you'll want it fixed before you ride much. When we raced them we would put the stick on lead weights on the steering stop just so it had some give and would not break as easy.

I hope yours is not broken but with the after market bodywork and paint job you should check it for your safety.

That's almost as nice as a Buell Ulysses. :D

Nice bike. I'm sure you're tickled!

OneSickPsycho 01-14-2009 11:19 AM

Is one fork tube black and the other silver?

Other than checking the mechanical stuff out... I'd rip that exhaust off and paint it black... and get that other fork tube blacked out too. A little labor intensive, but if you do it yourself it'll be really, really cheap and would make that bike pop.

dReWpY 01-14-2009 11:22 AM

it looks like one side is inverted and the other is "standard" anyone else catch this?

I think it's a optical illusion cause that's what I thought at first too. I think it's just one side is black and the other is silver.

They are both standard, but like mentioned above, one is black and one is silver.

When the original owner had the bike painted, the painter was too lazy to put them back on.... so the 2nd owner rode basically the last season without turn signals... i was gonna get aftermarkets anyway.

Yea, honestly i was planning on putting it up in my friend's garage and wrenching on it till spring. He has an 05' R6 and was planning on doing some wrench time on his. The guy i bought it from combed over the engine (plugs, filters, carbs) so its mainly gonna be cosmetic work. Yes the forks are different colors. The 1st owner had a problem with one, 2nd owner was not sure what. The thing has a clean title, so maybe he had a bent fork and just replaced it himself. I'll blacken out the fork, i think the pipe will stay silver...

Congrats dude :dthumb: I like the color too!

Porkchop 01-16-2009 01:46 PM

It seems like all my friends do too.... its actually close to what my one friend wanted to paint his R6...

It really pops in the sunlight, even more so in real life...

I'll get more pics up soon that I took. Those are seller's pictures...

HRCNICK11 01-16-2009 04:45 PM

When I have some time this week I'll run to my friends house and take some close up pics of the steering head and some other random stuff.... give you guys a close up look instead of those generic sellers photos.

As far as i know the bike was dropped at 0mph, there is no rash or hairline cracks... just that hole where it looks like it fell on something. Who knows what happened with the original owner before the customization.....
