I painted my turn signals with "dark tint" paint, the light still shines through, not sure if i like it yet or not, what do you guys think?

rogue 02-15-2009 02:02 PM

I really like how it looks!

How well does the light shine through and is that legal?

the light shines through better than i thought it would, and probably not legal, in north carolina you dont have to have turn signals on a bike, but if you do they have to work, and they work so..... i dont know

rogue 02-15-2009 02:22 PM

Sounds like you're walking a fine line between legal and illegal...prolly depends upon the cop. :idk:

I still like it though! Very sleek looking. :dthumb:

Looks good. I always like the smoked tail lights and mirrors but I am too much of a visibility nazi. :sorry:

jalaan1 02-15-2009 04:01 PM

looks good, now you gotta get or smoke your windscreen.

Cutty72 02-15-2009 04:03 PM

I like it.
I've thought about doing it on the 1125, but haven't yet as I'm worried about losing the visability of the signals. With it being all one piece, you can't replace just the lense if I don't like it.

what exactly did you use?

marko138 02-15-2009 04:19 PM

I love it.

PhiSig1071 02-15-2009 04:44 PM

Looks good, I think it would look very clean from a distance.

Ninjakel 02-15-2009 05:13 PM

I love it. Looks great!!

i just used some Testors "smoked tint" paint from a hobby store

Yamerhaw 02-15-2009 11:55 PM

i ended up taking the paint off, might end up redoing them sometime later, i mean it looked real good and all, but , well... i dont know

Digifox 02-16-2009 12:03 AM

I think it looks pretty Bad ass.

But Hey, if you dont wanna do it...your bike

ZUKIMON 02-16-2009 12:06 AM

Hell, that looked good dude. I was wondering if you got it done or not. How'd it look after you removed it? Was that part hard?

racedoll 02-16-2009 10:08 AM

Looked good though I don't know what it looked like before.
I am too much for visibility so I have left my bike alone. Every has their preference though.

ZUKIMON 02-16-2009 01:46 PM

Did you do the inside or out?? I figure inside....

the chi 02-16-2009 01:49 PM

If you decide you don't like them,I have a set of clear lenses or you can get these Clear Alternatives lens for about $20. You can see the light just fine through them. Oh and I still have this windshield if you want it,although it is double bubble...

That would look good. I'm considering getting my rearsets and passenger pegs powder coated.

I already have a smoked windscreen...front signals and an intergrated taillight.

Is this some place down in NC? I live in Creston, but OH and there isn't anything special about this place. Hillbilly central!

Yeah, what he said. :D :D

askmrjesus 02-20-2009 05:08 PM

Looks (looked) ok, but it kind of defeats the whole purpose of having turn signals in the first place. But then, you figured that out all by yourself didn't you.

the turn signals still shown through quite bright, brighter than i would have thought, it was "tint" paint, not actual "paint" paint

Hey, I thought it looked good, but if you get t-boned in an intersection by some blue-hair in a Buick, I doubt her lawyer is going to cut you any slack for using "tint" paint, instead of "paint" paint.

That said, I spend a lot of time in NC, and if I see a car with turn signals on, I assume they bought it that way.

AMEN! I joke with my hubby and tell him I don't want such and such car because it doesn't have turn signals... or they only work part of the time. Damn idiots.

njchopper87 02-21-2009 01:55 PM

Haha. I see so many people that forget to turn their signals off around here it's crazy. If I only see 2 people riding around with their damn blinkers on to and from class it's a good day.

That's one thing I will never get used to, because in Jersey if you leave your blinkers on I assume your turning and go. If you run into me, I get money for damages. Around here your state of mind is to assume they're going straight..
