I painted my turn signals with "dark tint" paint, the light still shines through, not sure if i like it yet or not, what do you guys think?

I really like how it looks!

How well does the light shine through and is that legal?

the light shines through better than i thought it would, and probably not legal, in north carolina you dont have to have turn signals on a bike, but if you do they have to work, and they work so..... i dont know

Sounds like you're walking a fine line between legal and illegal...prolly depends upon the cop. :idk:

I've thought about doing it on the 1125, but haven't yet as I'm worried about losing the visability of the signals. With it being all one piece, you can't replace just the lense if I don't like it.

i just used some Testors "smoked tint" paint from a hobby store

i ended up taking the paint off, might end up redoing them sometime later, i mean it looked real good and all, but , well... i dont know

Looked good though I don't know what it looked like before.
I am too much for visibility so I have left my bike alone. Every has their preference though.

nah, just used some brake cleaner to remove it, i had scuffed them up before i tinted them, so i just had to spray some clear coat on them, look like new!

Did you do the inside or out?? I figure inside....

If you decide you don't like them,I have a set of clear lenses or you can get these Clear Alternatives lens for about $20. You can see the light just fine through them. Oh and I still have this windshield if you want it,although it is double bubble...

thought about tinting the rear signals too, tinted windscreen, and powder coating the rearsets and passenger footpegs

Looks (looked) ok, but it kind of defeats the whole purpose of having turn signals in the first place. But then, you figured that out all by yourself didn't you. :lol:

Hey, I thought it looked good, but if you get t-boned in an intersection by some blue-hair in a Buick, I doubt her lawyer is going to cut you any slack for using "tint" paint, instead of "paint" paint.

That said, I spend a lot of time in NC, and if I see a car with turn signals on, I assume they bought it that way.

AMEN! I joke with my hubby and tell him I don't want such and such car because it doesn't have turn signals... or they only work part of the time. Damn idiots.

Haha. I see so many people that forget to turn their signals off around here it's crazy. If I only see 2 people riding around with their damn blinkers on to and from class it's a good day.

That's one thing I will never get used to, because in Jersey if you leave your blinkers on I assume your turning and go. If you run into me, I get money for damages. Around here your state of mind is to assume they're going straight..
