Just curious what oil filter do you use?
Hey I was just curious if you all run the factory recommended filter from the dealer or use brands such as Purolator, Napa, Wix, Bosch, Fram etc....????
|
manufacturer or Purolator
I've got some pictures of some I cut apart if you want me to post them. |
I use a Hi Flo filter that I get from AF1 racing for my priller and wa susing a stock suzuki filter for the TL and gsxr. I have heard good and bad things about the purolator filters so stuck with stock for the time being.

A lot of the guys on the futura forum on aprilia forum use them and have had good things to say about them. I have used 4 or 5 of them so far and no issues.

I've used the factory filters or fram. I'm going to try the Bosch equivalent - not sure if that's who makes the OE filter (it might be Mann or Mahle).
|
K&N...buy them straight from their site, it's the cheapest I've found them
|
Purolator Pure One. Here's a bunch of info on motorcycle oil filters: http://motorcycleinfo.calsci.com/Fil...tml#OilFilters

looked sintresting, of course in the article they dont list what filters fit aprilias :idk:

I usually just get whtever the walmart filter is. its a cartrige style anyhow, so you'll know how well built it is right away.
|
K&N. I use the nut on the top of it to safety wire it. Most track day organizations require it now. And the drain plug.
|
i always use factory filters, but for the Amsoil fans, they recomend that if you dont use Amsoil filters to use WIX
|
I have the factory filters.
I bought a Vesra oil filter for my husband's bike. |
K&P all stainless steel low micron rating, high flow, magnetic pre-filter... the filter money can buy!
|
chicken wire stops the big chunks of metal, clutch discs pretty gd.
|
Factory Honda. Asked my mechanic who is an ex-superbike racer/champion about other filters. Said even on his race bikes he used stock Honda filters and even stock Honda clutches with no problems ever. So I stuck with Honda. My bike has 50k on it with often sparatic oil change times. Runs perfect too

K&N. Nut built into the top so it's easy as hell to get on and off, and that nut is predrilled for safety wire.
Also, I found a guy who sold his R6 so he sold me 11 of them for $60 shipped. That'll last me the entire race season and then some. |

Add another K&N. Top nut + pre-drilled = no brainer. |
Factory cause it's a cartridge style. Haven't checked to see if anyone else makes one yet or not?
