which one?.. for the price.
this one for $99
http://www.compacc.com/images/product/200/15893_4.jpg or this one for $79 http://www.newenough.com/image/path/11438/front.jpg these are my choices for these economic times, LMK. |
My PowerTrip jacket held up well when I crashed... I'd rock another one.
I'd go for option #1 without checking the details. It just looks better. You may want to check out this: http://www.compacc.com/ I got an email from them and they have a huge sale going on with jackets... I also saw a set of AGV leathers for $200... Sick deals. |
I think the second jacket has more value for money since it is constructed with 1.2 to 1.4mm cowhide as oppose to the 1.1 to 1.2 used in the first jacket.
Call newenough and ask them to check if it is easy enough too remove the hideous "TOWER TRIP: street unit" lettering from the front and the back without damaging the jacket. |
I like the more subtle looks of the first one better, but the second one is thicker leather (as mentioned above), so I'd go with it based on that alone. And I've got a Power Trip jacket I've been very happy with (Power Trip is the same company as Joe Rocket, so if you've got any Joe Rocket gear already, then you'll already know how it will fit you, as their sizing is pretty consistent across both brands).
As for removing the stitching, I've got that same lettering across the chest of mine, and no, there's no way to remove it easily, without leaving a mess and damaging the leather, so I wouldn't even attempt it. |
First jacket. I hate the lettering on the Power Trip jacket.

I like the second one...But I'm one for Gaudy Looks :)

I really like this Tetile of theres...
http://www.pro1powersports.com/image...ndary/3719.jpg But for 80 bucks I might have to pick that one up...looks nice. |
Based on looks...1st one.

Keep in mind that a jacket is an investment to protect yourself while on the bike. I would do some research on several sites and see what you can find. 1.4 is a lot better for protection. Also make sure you have the armor in the jacket for your elbows and back.

#2, I love my power trip.
Funny that PT owned by Joe Rocket since my PT fits a whole lot better than any of my JR's. |
