Up 2 in the rear is a great gearing for it.

I would recommending sticking with steel sprockets and the 530 for mileage.
Be very careful with the oil drain plug, they are very known to strip out.

Braided lines will make the brakes ok with a decent set of pads.

IIRC set the forks around 5mm showing above the top clamp once you get the suspension set. That was about the most common setting on the TL, I would start adjusting from there. After the weight is set. You will feel the shift instantly and figure out where you like the front end yourself.
