On the ninja I used a tank bag that was given to me by the chick I bought the Ninja from.
When I had my Honda the tank bag was forbidden after a tiny piece of metal stuck to the magnets then scratched my tank.
So backpack on that one.
On a long ride if I had lots of stuff I would bungie cord the back pack to the rear seat so it wouldn't hurt my back.
