he's talking about the power band difference between an I4 and Vtwin.
a twin has much more low end grunt, but tops out early, and the I4 doenst usually get any power until its up in the 6-7-8 k range.
Trip was making a point that in recent years the I4's have allowed for more power in the lower revs, as opposed to the older I4's that were lacking much more.
