Probably power delivery and size/ergos. Newer 600cc supersports are supposed to have no grunt down low, so you have to spin them to umpteen thousand RPMS to build real power- like the R6 with its ~17000RPM redline. On the ergo side, there's the "monkey humping a football" factor. Older 600s are slightly larger with higher bars, lower footpegs, and more cushy seats.
