What would you prefer, another generic 4-cyl? ....or one that has a nice beat to it. Let's face it, the R1 is the only Jap bike with any distinctive feature about it. Sure the motor is good, but why 20lbs heavier? So they can put a big counterbalancer on?
I prefer inlines to V-twins for canyon riding....I have better throttle control with inlines.
And the only reason for BPF is because they are cheaper, yet inherently more expensive to do front end work.
