Buying into the Harley or Ducati "mystique" can be an expensive proposition, but here is a beautiful looking Ducati for under $4K. It's a 1992 907ie (Paso) in black: http://denver.craigslist.org/mcy/1885324346.html. Wow.

Just one leeetle issue with the Pasos.....nobody makes 16" tires for the beast......nobody.
You needs to do a conversion to 17" from a newer SS.....Ducati.ms has the thread on how to...

Beside, with a little careful shopping you can be riding a low-miles ST2 for under $4k.....more HP, better all around bike, modern suspension and better ergos.. I have a friend selling one right now for $4200 OBO.....and parts are3 common and you can buy off the shelf tires....
