Apparently I would do very well with my salary in Flint, Michigan.
Pretty incredible to see that 25% of the population is flirting with the 6 figure mark. I guess that milestone is no longer as elite as it once was. |

Looks like NYC included parts of NJ. I wonder what just Manhatten would be. I imagine $200,000 in Manhatten is like $80,000 elsewhere. Comfortable not not super rich.

Top 38%.
If the wife would get another teaching job when the kids are older, we'd be in the top 18%.

Just realized you can mouse over a lot of other counties, not just the permanently tagged ones. Raleigh has a higher household income average than I would have expected.
Actually, most places do. Even Grand Rapids Michigan requires a decent salary to be in the top 5%. |

Well, as long as I compare myself to only Texas non-metro areas and metro areas where I wouldn't want to live, my salary actually doesn't look too bad.

Where I own property in NJ I am in the bottom 48.
Where I am a registered voter in NJ I am in the top 52. Where I live now in MD I am in the bottom 42 (metro areas) or the top 47 (non metro areas) In Flint MI, top 17, all you poors need to get down and lick my boots clean
