Best Small Furry Pet
I really want a dog, but we don't have and don't want to put up a fence yet. So a dog is out of the question.
So the next best thing is something small and furry. Namely like a guinea pig or rabbit. I actually almost killed a little baby bunny that had a nest in some high grass I was weedeating and messed up it's nest. I tried to rebuild it, but I don't think it came back in the night when I checked this morning. Hope it found it's momma. Andrea has ruled out ferrets, I would love to have two ferrets. Anyone have any experience in good small furry pets that require little maintenance and aren't big biters/mean when handling. I had hamsters before, I hated those little bastards.

Get a chinchila(I don't know how to spell it).
I don't know what they are, but it's really furry and soft! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinchilla |

dont necessarily NEED to have a fence for a dog, just walk them yourself and you're good to go. I do with mine daily, apartments kinda force you to.

Tell the little lady to stop trimming. Have her grow it out like an afro.
Make sure she uses a good conditioner. |

I'd still go for a dog even though you don't have a fence. It takes some initial work in the training but it's very rewarding.
How about a bunny? |

I would like a bunny, but I want more info before I get one and it be not the right pet for us. I don't want to get something and then have to give it up or try and find a new home/abandon it because we didn't do research before hand.
