WNC 8-7-09 Berfday ride report
I took the day off and told the garmin to take me east. I found some little roads all over WNC and ended up in Franklin. Here are some pics.
Packed up and ready to leave Started shooting somewhere near Fontana Village Sadly, it took me to a 4 lane just past Stecoah...BOOO! Some really crappy pavement, this is better. Road got better, booo! It sure was pretty regardless Kinda twisty too Swingin bridge, ROCK! Where the pavement ends! JAWESOME!! Even better Back on 28 Found some more dirt/gravel

Purty Mtns
Interesting story behind this one, there use to be a 55mph sign just after the state line, I had it removed. It's an interesting story full of hilarity, but I successfully got a sign legally removed from the gap to win an argument. JAWESOME!!! Tellico Arriving back home to the City of Lenoir The wife had me a little surprise waiting for my return mmmm, cookie

What no Chick-fil-a? We had a nice ride up to Blowing Rock today and also rode on the Blueridge Parkway for a bit. Today was the best ride I've been on, just a great day! Glad you had a good one Trip.

Nick... you're gonna be SO depressed to go back to TN after 2011... those are not Mountains... just hills. I'll show you what mountains are supposed to look like when we get to CO, NM, NV, CA, OR, ID, and WY... then we'll ease ya back down with the Black Hills of SD
Glad ya had a good birthday. learning the bike? |

Yeah I am learning. Dude, this bike rules. You need a GS as soon as possible. Fun is just too soft a word to describe it. I am still real unsteady in dirt, but I think that is mostly due to tires. I am going to go with some tourrances next time. Not the best for gravel, but I want a better road tire since I spend most of my time there, but they are better than my tires on gravel right now.
