Winter Beers
Ok since the time of year is upon us when the winter brews come out I decided they needed their own thread. Feel free to list some favorites, reviews, dislikes, etc.
Im a big fan of the Sam Adams Winter Lager and Blue Moon's Full Moon. Last night I decided to give this one a try: Not my pic but figured Id add it for reference. It was pretty decent. If you like SN's Pale Ale youll probably like this one. Pretty decent taste and only $9 a six pack. This year Im gonna have to track down some of the Great Lakes Christmas Ale thats really popular out here. I wanted to last year but the only place I found it(towards end of holiday season) wanted 15 or 16 bucks for the sixxer and I couldnt justify it with being broke at the time. |

I have a sneaky brown ale (12% AC),hoppy bitter, and a Guinness clone aging right now. Now is the time for dark, full body beers.

In the winter I LOVE unfiltered wheat beers! The most common is Blue Moon, but some of the best (I've had) were from this brewery called Linenkugel.

Im a big fan of blue moon just because of the flavor and how smooth it is. I like all of their beers except the harvest moon. Ive have the sunset wheat from Linenkugel and it was a good one. Ill have to look into some of their other stuff.

I love Sam's Winter Lager. Might have to pick up a case soon. Or today for that matter.

I'm not a big fan of hoppy beers either.. Blue Moon Full Moon and Harvest Moon are nummy.
All time favorite beer from ANY season was the Hirschauer Hefe-weissen. You pretty much can only get it if you're in that part of Germany.

I just picked up a Sixxer of blue moon winter ale, and a mixed six pack of different winter beers, so we'll see.
