Well, the snow metaphor does serve to underscore the insidiously slow accumulation, but the domino metaphor lets you put nice bank logos on the tiles.

What utter pablum. The "trigger" was the creation of the securities in the first place. The fuse was lit when derivatives on those securities were created and marketed. Then again, why bother with the silly financial risk reality (and inevitable outcome) of the Comunity Development and Reinvestment Act altogether.
