NC school sells test points for $20 to raise money (AP) – 1 day ago GOLDSBORO, N.C. — A middle school in North Carolina is selling test scores to students in a bid to raise money. The News & Observer of Raleigh reported Wednesday that a parent advisory council at Rosewood Middle School in Goldsboro come up with the fundraising plan after last year's chocolate sale flopped. The school will sell 20 test points to students for $20. Students can add 10 extra points to each of two tests of their choice. The extra points could take a student from a "B" to an "A" on those tests or from a failing grade to a passing grade. Principal Susie Shepherd says it's not enough of an impact to change a student's overall grades. Officials at the state Department of Public Instruction say exchanging grades for money teaches children the wrong lessons. Hell it works here too. You just have to know when to do it and be able to tell who will go for it.

I'm going to run that by my professor today. I have an A but could use an A++.
I can't wait until people start screaming racism on this one. What would work better is if your kid makes an A on a test you owe the school nothing. They make a B you owe the school $100. Make a C $300 and make a D/F you owe $600. I bet parents take an interest in their childs education then. Good football players exempt of course.

Not surprising. The hick-town known as Goldsboro, NC can't offer the salary or quality of life required to attract high-quality school principals who have a clue.
