september/october of 05. I bought the SV on 10/08/05. That date is forever stuck in my head because I will never live it down. It's my wife's birthday. LOL! I started the purchase on 10/7, but they drug their feet and I didn't get the bike til 10/8. Then we spent the rest of the day gear shopping. I didn't really start riding on the road til a few weeks later. I stayed in the apartment parking lot for awhile.

I joined SBN in Sept of 2001. One week before 9/11. I purchased my first bike on 9/11/2001 ironically enough.

I was member #38, joined Oct 2002, on CF and that was a good home until Rob had to get out.

I sold my R6 in 2006 due to $$ and time.

Then I came here on 11/6/2008 thanks to AZoomm.

I hope to have another street bike soon but for right now I get my fix on dirt.

SBN in Sept. of 2001 also.

CF in Dec. of 2002 - Dragged my feet, after the big blow-up, but talked to Rob and bought a vowel.

<=== as to when I got here.

Pretty much the same story for me, though SBN in 2001.

Mostly lurk around here these days.

Member of CF in 2002 when I had a nervous breakdown/midlife crisis and moved to Austin

Moved here thanks to Neebs - shortly thereafter the herd followed.

I joined CF in October 2005. On my very first ride at night, I went to the bank to deposit some cash. I was nervous as hell. Some dude on a bike drove by real slow watching me and I got even more nervous. After I made the deposit and was going to leave, said dude pulled up next to me in the parking lot and invited me to bike night at Mozart's on Wednesdays. He told me I could get more info on cycleforums.com. I said, "cycle forms?" I had never even heard of a forum before.

I still don't know who that guy was, but a big chunk of my life now is due to that little conversation with that unknown dude on a blue bike. Thanks, dude.
