RC cars and monster trucks
Anyone into them? I am cleaning up and doing some maintenance to my trucks. I still have an original Blackfoot and Traxxas Nitro Rustler at my bothers I have to pick up.
In the pic is a Traxxas E Revo(Novak 4.5 HPpro brushless) and a HPI Savage Flux. The Savage Flux is downright NASTY on 6s Lipo batteries(two 3s). |

I have a Traxxas nitro rustler converted to mix street/dirt duty, an HPI RS4 and a Tamaya Hornet that I was trying to rebuild at one point. I also have a ton of parts for 1/8 nitro buggies that I played with for a while

I want to do that to my Nitro Rustler, maybe put a TRX 3.3 engine in it and some street tires, wont be anything close to as fast my Savage Flux, but it will be quick

I put the 2.8 engine in, street tires, dropped suspension, aluminium shock towers and upgraded the A arms to be street friendly, otherwise it just flips when you want to turn. I also used shorter shocks with fuel tubing as bump stops to keep it from scraping too much. it was good for small jumps and just acting foolish on the street, but it still got its ass handed to it every time by the hpi rally car.

I started with the nitro Savage, but didn't like the hassle of a gas when I was living in an apt. Got the E-max and liked it a lot, still sitting in my basement. Haven't run it in a long time as other things were more of a priority to me.

My son wanted one when he saw that I used to race when I was younger, so I got him a few of the X-Mods from Radio Shack...Now I think we will start moving up. I used to run a Modded Luchbox, Blackfoot and my fave was a kyosho Rocky with a wicked 540 twister and aluminum chassis. I was the first in my area to run an electric speed control, so that should tell ya how long ago that was. I need a couple of monster trucks to bop around the yard and pull my RC boat.

When I was growing up there was an RC track in the middle of a salvage yard near my house. I had an Associated RC10 and a Shumacher Cat 4WD that I used to race. My favorite was my Clodbuster though...
