What I learned today...
thought this might be a cool thread... post up some things you learned today riding...
Learned my jacket isn't NEARLY as waterproof when you don't snap all the buttons or close every vent (even a 1/4" matters) Learned I need boots that aren't made of sponge... poured out 2" of water out of each boot... Learned riding in rain even a torrential downpour doesn't bug me Learned while rain might not, lightening striking 50' away while riding through a flooded section that has my boots underwater... DOES! Learned riding through flooded sections is a lot different from driving through them... you don't need to slow down as much... but you do need to slow down learned if the water is running across the road with any sort of current(2-5" deep), your bike will lean into the current like you would for the wind... Learned the Shoei Hornet is great in rain until you open the visor.... then you get water on the INSIDE of the visor... keep it shut even if it fogs... oh learned the Droid loves water... so much that it'll drink itself to death... in the process of drying it now... what did you learn today? |

That black labs love water, and sharing said water with anyone within shaking distance...

I learned that if I want to ride again I really need to wash my bike before going. It is a filthy mess! |

And why do you need to wash it? A dirty bike rides the same as a clean one... |

it was... cutty is an idiot... and you don't need to wash the bike to ride it... just wash it once a week as part of your weekly checkup on parts (chain, sprockets, ect) you should have known that by now... I mean... FUCK YOU |

Well, I'm glad I didn't follow through with this... I got wet today and had I washed my bike I would have been totally pissed. Now I just have to remember to take care of my chain before it rusts, even if I do nothing else.

Really it should be every ride... but as I ride every damn day... checking the tires, chain, sprockets, oil, lights ect... gets old. I do it all weekly when I clean my chain

I love the rain. I like watching it and being out in it. I was caught in heavy rain storm on the highway on a trip. It was raining so hard I could barely see the car in front of me that was probably 15 ft. I had to keep going 65 cause assholes had me boxed in. Car in front, pickup to the right, and pickup behind me. Water started standing on the highway.
