Legalize it.
You may have heard about Colorado and Washington... they've legalized pot. However, Federal law supercedes state law, so like with California and other states that have pro-marijuana stances the DEA can come kicking doors in at any time...
That said, we could be on the cusp of something really awesome in this country... rational drug policy. We have something like 5% of the world's population, yet approximately 25% of the world's prison population. This is alarming and it's directly tied to the failed War on Drugs. A petition has been started to amend the Controlled Substances Act to remove marijuana from the list, effectively turning over the discretion to the states (as it should be). While I don't expect it to grow legs, it can at least raise an eyebrow or two in DC... Sign it. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/pet...cG#thank-you=p |

Did you know that marijuana has been shown to fight cancer? Did you know that it is impossible to OD on? Did you know that more people die each day from taking Tylenol than from using marijuana? Ok, that last one was a trick... nobody has ever died from using marijuana. |

My only objection to legalization is that there are no valid medical testing methods to show that someone was impaired while driving. THC content in blood isn't like BAC for alcohol. Find a method of showing impairment and I'm all for it. It's not like people aren't already screwy on the wacky tobaccy while driving. Hell, I could smell it coming out of two cars I was driving behind, on my way home last night. I just figure that legalizing it will compound an existing problem.

I'm not saying they aren't accurate but I have yet to see anything from either side that shows whether or not smoking MJ is better or worse than ciggies. I hear all these different levels of carcinogens/anti-carcinogens being thrown about but have never seen any studies shown. I've also never heard of OD via ingestion until this post.
