Default moving = painful

ok so last week I got a fluke opportunity at a great job. in florida. been wanting to move south for sometime but not really seeing it as a reality for a year or two yet. now with this, reality is right now. decided to take the leap, now for the fun. work on the dually has sped up to get it prepared. jeep or other truck will be sold, house goes on the market. finish up my work here, sell other various items, load camper and truck, find campground...........

this will be and exciting couple weeks for sure. if all goes well I will be in Florida next month.

kind of hate to leave behind my house and garage. I built the garage with the help of my son, and have done tons of work to the house, but I have zero interest in another winter in Wisconsin.

will be a trying couple months I'm sure as the girlie will be staying behind to sell the house, and pack the remaining items and what not.

I'll be living in the camper for a while until we get something settled there. haven't even had a chance to camp in the camper. LOL

Not sure how bad the roads suck up there, but they really suck down here... I told ONSSP about this and she was like, "OMG does that mean we can have doggie dates and meet that cute bulldog."

roads here are unbelievable. we get huge upheavels and potholes because of winter. road construction season is in full swing right now so almost every major highway is tore up.

absolutely the dogs will have to get together. although I am on strict orders that I can not bring bully with me. she can only come down with mom. LOL that's mom's special girl you know.

He meant, do they turn. The alphabet roads of Wisconsin are amazing rides, if just because they follow creeks and rivers which normally make them curvy and fun. Florida is a grid pattern, most turns are either freeway exits or drive-thrus.

Congratulations on the job, and good luck with the move!! It's all very exciting!

Orlando is nice enough as long as you avoid all the fat families there to see the mouse. You won't be far from Daytona and its beaches. Bike Week and Biketoberfest are also worth checking out at least once. Depending on where in Orlando you are going to be you wont be more than a couple hours away from the Clearwater/St. Pete area either.

If you want a cool town with highly rated beaches, a relaxed atmosphere, and main street great for getting hammered drunk check out Siesta Key (not in the Keys) down by Sarasota. There is also St. Armands Circle on the next island. The circle is too trendy for me but if you go just up to City Island (probably less than half a mile) on nice days you can sit out on the deck at The Old Salty Dog and watch some pretty nice boats come in and out of the channel. When the wind is right you can watch some pretty nice boats try to go out the channel, see 8 foot breakers and come right back in.

One of the nice things about Florida is no matter where you are in the state there is supposedly never a beach more than 60 miles away.
