Default grips

Ok odd question but how often do change your grips? The only reason I ask is that I can remember changing grips in the past, but its been like a once every other thing, this year I'm on my 3rd set on the CBR and 2nd on the KLR. The KLR got a few thousand miles out of the last set of grips, but the CBR got maybe 250 miles out of a set of renthals before I wore through the rubber to the bar. In the past I am guessing I was getting about 10k out of a pair of grip

Over 50k on the vfr's stockers. Unless they are super soft, I dont see why theyd were out.

Yeh I like the softer compound ones, but this last set just wore through in 3 rides plus a handful of short commutes.

they were wearing like they were pencil erasers, just rubbing right off

You are gripping the bars way too hard. Relax your grip.

Or you are buying shitty grips.

What he said.

The only time I've ever had to replace grips was if someone got too overzealous with tie-downs and ripped them.

I'm going on 9 years and 70,000 miles with the stock grips on the Busa and they look perfect. You need to relax there Skippy.

I replace mine when the texturing gets worn smooth. Usually about once a year.

I chose the last option

Otherwise, never. I don't see how they'd wear out, unless you are using pencil erasers?
