For sure. If it will shoot sub sonic ammo, it would be a great plinker. Is Joel647 on here?

I wouldn't pay more than retail for it. That's just me. You can get a new S&W AR15-22 for $450 and the Colt for $600 at Gander mountain. I'm downloading CDNN's catalog right now to see if they have any deals on the .22L's. I got the half off S&W AR-15. I got a boner.

The gun makes no sense.

A "Tactical" .22lr? What are you going to use it on, terrorist woodchucks?

It won't be anywhere near as accurate as a Ruger 10/22, due to the shorter barrel (16.2" vs. 18.5"), and a trigger pull of 6.6-9.9 lbs. Plus, it costs twice as much.

Also, sub-sonic ammo doesn't generally work very well in semi-auto's, and they aren't very accurate over any kind of distance.

But, if you want to look like a bad-ass who can hit anything passed 20 yards, with a gun that constantly stove pipes, the Colt M4 Ops .22LR with sub-sonic ammo, is the gun for you.

Come on JC, Tell us what ya really think! LOL. Itsa toy. An expensive toy but to each his own. If you plink overall accuracy isnt a big deal, 30 rd mags are. Beverage containers beware...

LOL, take it easy little man. For one thing, it's not even for me. That aside, I posted pics of my real AR-15 and Mossberg on CF years ago. I would buy something like this because I could shoot at anything for hours and not spend anything. I'm sure you've got a 20mm sniper rifle, anything less would be uncivilized.

Edit: The guy who is thinking of buying it just had his HK USP compact stolen from his vehicle, actually the same person I posted about in the bank thread. It's been a shitty week for him, so he's replacing the USP and buying something fun to shoot for cheap.

No, I have a 10/22 that hits what I shoot at, which was my point.

Sorry if my opinion of your friends future rifle threatened your manhood, big boy.

It's quite alright, I think he wants something nice that doesn't need to be accurate from 300 or whatever yards. It looks cool. It's not a serious rifle. Your opinion has been noted. Thanks.

I'm betting the lack of woodland creatures and crows is a dead giveaway

I'm content with my old lever action Browning for target shooting though every once in a while the semi-auto Ruger with the composite stock comes out for some target action.

That M4 is a bit beyond what I'd pay for a target shooter but that's just me since I'm pretty much done for a while.
