Work broken into.
Just got back from checking up on the shop. My boss got a call from the security people and they said the motion detector went off. I grabbed my pistol and my boss picked me up. I went in first clearing each room until I got to the back and saw the entry point and we backed out and got the police to come over.
The building is cinder blocks except the rear. Its sheet metal and frame. They just grabbed the end of a sheet and ripped it open then busted out the sheetrock/wall paneling. Luckily we had a bunch of stuff stacked against the wall and a small but heavy table. They ended up knocking over everything leaning against the table and it set off the alarm. We figure its the same people that broke into our trailer last time. They know when are days off are. I voted for razor wire but the boss is going to call up an electrician to hang up more security lights. Well I'm beat so good night. |

Fucking scum.
Replace everything, but put cinder block just inside of the drywall. That way, when they try to bust through the drywall, they find cinder block instead of air. Alternatively, boobie trap the place with outward-facing charges.

Clearing the building yourself isn't all that smart.

This. Hell, I've been trained to do it and I still won't. If someone comes into my house, I'll hole up in one room and wait for them to come to me. They can take all the shit they want. But, come into my room and they're going down.
You give them a huge advantage if you go looking for them. |

The way I see it, if someone barges their way into my house that I don't know, well, that's the reasonable belief I need and I WILL kill that person. If it comes down to me, in my home, or someone who wants to rob, injure, or kill me, it will be them. That's not to say I want to shoot someone. I don't, ever. If it's going to be me or them though, it won't be me.

Why didn't the security people call the police THEN the owner? Seems like an odd setup. Not in Texas.
