Or having a bike that no one else would buy, parked with a bunch of supersports.

We had a guy on the local forum, who was using it to scout out bikes to rip off. He played the nice guy; helping people with mechanical issues, and the like. He was drummed off the board when he had a little crash at The Gap, but played it up like he was possibly going to be paralyzed. He drummed up a lot of financial support. Then he turned up at a local meet not only walking, but having ridden there.

Maybe 6 months later he was swept up in a series of arrests, of bike thieves, who had stolen a couple of hundred bikes around the Toronto area, over a couple of years. While there was a lot of anger, there wasn't much in the way of surprise. Well, except among his supporters, that is.

I ride an SV. The 1000RR I'm parked next to at work will probably be lifted first.

I dunno... It'd probably be easier to part out an SV than the Beamer...

I dislike that 1000RR is now thought to be a Bimmer first.

I still think of the Honda first.

If he had said S1000, I would have thought BMW.

Yep, if he had said CBR1000RR, I would have thought Honda.

A few years ago I would have said no as they were popular track/race bikes, but not as much now.
