I would have to say a couple different methods

if you just spot cleaning the grab the ole saddle soap and hit the spots then use a little mink oil and wipe clean

if you need to clean the whole damn thing I take it to a repudable leather cleaner and they can do eet

cause I am just lazy

If it's just spots......use a spray leather cleaner. But if it's been 2-3 years and it's all ripe & stinky, soak it in a bathtub overnight with Woolite & water. Then refill the tub with rinse water and soak again a couple times. Afterwards take it out and lay it FLAT on some towels. Apply leather conditioner BEFORE it starts drying out.

Thats what rain is for.

(mental note...maybe time to wash that leather jacket that you've riding in all kinds of weather up to 100+ temps. After 8 years I guess the its time.)

I never wash mine. every now and then they get a good rinsing from rain however.
