Shoei hemets fit oval heads pretty well (me) and I use a Shoei with a Hi-Def shield. I tried on an Arai Profile and it seemed more comfortable than the Shoei, however I have not ridden in an Arai so I don't really know what they are like at speed. It doesn't matter much since I can't afford one anyway.

The EXO700 and to a point the EXO1000 fit the same shape as the RF-1000- mine Kind of a relaxed/neutral oval.

Try the new Bell Star. It's ovalish. My head is really round and it only fits the Quantum II well. Even the Profile didn't quite fit me. The Bell Star fits with just a bit of forehead room, so I figure it's oval but not too round.

Check out the reviews on webbikeworld, they tell you whether each helmet is an oval or round fit. In my experience, none of the Suomys work, they all have a round fit kinda like an Arai Quantum. And as far as Sharks go, their top of the line is all round-fit unfortuantely. They do make a couple oval helmets, the RSI and the S650, but they are down in the range unfortunately.
You might try an AGV XR2, it's kinda outdated so you can find good deals on them on Ebay, and they are very oval.....the cheekpads are very tight. The Ti-Tech might work as well, although it's not as oval as the XR2. Forget about Shoei, none of them are really oval......They either don't have enough room in the forehead, or they don't go down far enough to cover the chin (like the RF1000) |

I've got a Arai Profile... looking at the Shark RSR2 or RSI... but as I'm in Korea I can't try one on till March when I'm back home. I'm about 90% sure it's gonna be my next lid... 10% is only cause I'm worried about fit.

If you wear a Profile, I can pretty much guarantee the RSR2 won't work, it's more of a round fit.

Every Shoei I've tried was somewhere in between round and oval.
Arai fits more people, because they have a more diversified range of fits including extreme round (Quantum), extreme oval (Profile), and in-between (RX7 and Vector) Last edited by Homeslice; 11-28-2008 at 05:25 PM.. |

It is... the RSI and the S650 are "oval" but they aren't as "nice" as the RSR2
