Which do you prefer?
OK, I might have a line on an old XS650 in decent shape cheap, and I am thinking of picking it up as a project. It's in decent shape, but could use some TLC. If I do pick it up I'm not sure what I want to do it it yet. I'm thinking of either cleaning it up and keeping it relatively stock, turning it into a "street tracker", turning it into a 'cafe racer, or turning it into an old school frisco style chopper. Right now I'm leaning toward the chopper, I've ridden two foot-clutch bikes, one was a 1953 45" Harley with jockey shift and the other was a rat-chop rebel 450 with a suicide shifter. I'm thinking the XS with a rigid frame, sprung seat, and a suicide shifter might be a nice addition to the garage. What do you guys think?
Stocker: Street Tracker: Cafe': Chopper (I probably going with flat drag bars instead of the apes):

I really like the stocker and street tracker. The cafe wouldn't be bad. Out of those shown, I would want the tracker. This would be a neat project thread if you do it.

Of the four which do you like?
Trackers are kind of the trend in customs right now, along with baggers (which I am also kind of a fan of) and I'd like to do something different. You don't see many Suicide shift rat-choppers out there.

Street fighter it. I can see an easy transition to a street fighter on the cafe bike.

I like the street tracker also... but for me... none looked that appealing... I liked the caffe.. but it just didn't look like as a caffe... to... open I guess... the Street tracker looked best but that fuck'n exhaust has to go!

Chopper, without question.
Cafe is cool but there are better bikes to use (CB750 anyone?). A street tracker was cool when noone else had one or when you converted an old Harley racebike. Now they are played out. |

Honestly... a bike like that... I'd just hack off the seat into a solo seat, take off the front fender, and rock some drag bars... Fin.
I voted Chopper. |
