I try to own anything that I drive/ride. I just hate knowing that when I am paying for soemthing, it becomes worth less each payment that I make on it. I also don't like not being able to simply grab the title, should I choose to want to sell/trade it on a whim. I'm not rich and I have been fortunate, as of late, to be able to do some of the things that I have wanted to get done.

Yep, own the bike and the car. And should be getting my hands on another bike soon that i am paying cash for.
Now i don't mind having a bike payment (though i cant afford one right now) if they interest is low enough and i can pay it off relatively quick, or it gets transferred to a 0% apr credit card, since i don't necessarily want to cough up lump cash like that. I am holding out getting a newer car though, since i dont' want the payments. My car is a 94 corolla and i'm going to drive it to the ground first! Hopefully I can get another couple of years out of it first! |

A friend just paid CAN$8800 + tax for a brand new '08 BMW F800ST. That's less than I paid for my VFR800, 8 years ago. The industry is hurting.
