Not possible, that place has way too much shit. I just got to see everything I really wanted (not nearly enough) and my time amount spent at places is seriously reduced from the average visitor. There is so much shit there it's unbelievable.

If you stay North of Saginaw or West of Lansing(except maybe the little places around Chesaning, Owosso, Breckenridge...) its actually beautiful. I grew up taking rides from Saginaw up through Tawas and Houghton Lake over to Cadillac and all points north of The Saginaw area and never got tired or bored with it. The U.P. is just another world, like going back to a simpler time, at least for me. Rider, I'm in Chesapeake, Va. no bike but if you need something to do or wanna catch dinner or something, gimme a shout.

I'd visit. I've always wanted to see where "fail" was born.

People ask me all the time "Is Detroit really as bad as people say it is?" I say its bad, but Flint, for its size and make up is worse in my opinion. I'm from Saginaw, so the Tri-Cities are what I'm used to. I cant stay away from the area north of Bay City when I get home, unless its to go to The Joe for a game or the drive through the D. I could lose my job and head up to the woods of the U.P. and lose myself and kiss the world good-bye and be eternally happy. But the ride up the west side by the Dunes and Traverse City over the bridge through Paradise and over to Iron Mountain is the best.

The I-75 Corridor from the Michigan border up to Bay City is like a monument to the failure of General Motors. My friends and family are drowning up there with the amount of jobs that are gone.

I do strongly agree with the i75 corridor statement. It really just echos what I said. I also disagree on flint being worse than detoilet. Both downtowns have cleaned up allot over the past few yrs. However, detoilet still is much worse. Size not mattering. I hv lived just outside of both and still currently abt 20 miles from downtown detoilet. Just far enough for a decent neighborhood. |
