but i guess you guys are serious all the time been seeing alot of stamping at the bottem of emails saying, posted from yada yada.........but whatever. we like the ipad for what it does, we like our laptap for what it does, and our desktop, otherwise we wouldn't have bought them. dunno about you, but as i get older my eyes get worse, had to buy a + 1 set of glasses last yr, and yeah a driod/iphone will do as much as an ipad, the ipad obviously has a much bigger screen.

Very true! I still think that the op will enjoy it if she gets it. My friend that got one is selling hers, she's tired of it already. She has a Droid and says that she doesn't bother to waste the time it takes to get her i-Pad out. I'm not making this up. Also, her biggest complaint is the obvious one, very little 3G coverage here from ATT...I told her to wait until she gets Froyo, then she can tether her i-Pad to her Droid to surf the net. I do have one question though... I have an app that was free and makes available thousands of books for free. Can you get that from a Kindle, Nook or i-Pad? Or are you stuck paying their fees? If so anyone getting an i-Pad for a reader should look at all of that too. note- looks like there are plenty of services that charge a one time free (about $50) for unlimited downloads. Pretty cool. |

there's an ap that has alot of "classic" books for free
dunno about coverage issues, we were out in BFE oklahoma last month and it worked, maybe not great but it worked and when we hit dead zones, our phones we;re also dead and we have free roaming. can't really recall where the phones worked adn the ipad didn't. and we have sprint phones.

I saw someone using one at the airport and it looked kind of cool.
Would be interested to play with it a bit before I decided to purchase. |

I was reading a story at the NY Times last night about a Kindle app for Android phones...it immediately went on to my "download this app first list."
Kick ass.... http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/0...ref=technology Late edit: Welcome back, Kell |
