The issue is it's cheap leds and one will break and you are just as screwed as you would be if it was incans. Plus the wire/insulation and most of the material besides the light itself is the same as the incans, so it's prone to the same issues.

They will save you a ton in energy if you have a very large display like me. If it is a small static display, you won't really save a ton.
interesting.. so basically the LEDs just cost more then.. damn.. so what do you recommend? i want something that is a quality product, will last a long time, easy to store, easy to put up and looks nice.. money wise if i have to spend a bit more that's fine..

here is what i have up this year:

There are some pro LEDs you can get for about $13 that are comparable to 100 count incans but are good quality and should last. I can get you links for these.

I am planning on trying to score some 50% wally world ones. I plan on buying replacements every year for failures though.

Isn't there a market for good long lasting xmas lights? I know I would buy them. Good American made stuff not this cheap ass china crap. Hell I'd settle for some japan made stuff.

There is, but they are pricey. There are pro quality incans and LEDs. The stuff theme parks and shit use.
