SUNY Downstate. If youre only complaint is your glucose is high and its 200 youre outta there, but we do work up a lot of the diabetics because so many dont take care of themselves and we see all the end effects of the disease. Its good for a student/practicioner because you dont see this stuff in other places, but its a bitch managing them because of all the problems.

As others have echoed before, fasting blood work and s hbg A1c would be a good start to see if you sugars are running high. But primarily, seeing a doctor and discussing your symptoms would best. If you thought you have high sugars for years, other issues would arise, many detrimental. Prolonged, untreated glide levels predispose a person to neurological, circulatory, visual, gastrointestinal, and cardiac problems to name a few. By trying to diagnose yourself, curious or otherwise, you are either waisting time or money. We diagnose, treat, and resuscitate diabetics in my ER.
