I did have a strong emotional attachment to that bike, with around 25k miles in 6 months of owning it and all...
More than that though, I was glad my passenger didn't die or get seriously maimed....cause that would've been tough to deal with.

If I ever have to ride in the rain again it'll be by absolute necessity only. That lil' episode completely changed what I thought I knew about riding in bad weather.

Remember tho, it wasn't the rain. The wall of water we went through was not was got us. In the end, it was the road. To this day, I'm pretty sure the reason I stayed up and you went down was because you had a bailing passenger.

And besides, who's to say there aren't other patches of road out there waiting to take me out? I'm too tense to ride in the rain safely now anyway. Everytime I see a shiny patch of concrete my arms go taunt...which of course just makes it that much worse. I always thought I could ride in anything, and I always loved riding in thunderstorms...just to be out in the weather and all...it was exciting. But you know what's not exciting? Dying...
