i wind out 2nd and 3rd sometimes for kicks at 4am, but my commute is like 5mins on the freeway, the rest city. max speed limit is 40mph, takes me 20mins max to get to work. usually 10-15min. i ride everyday. maybe the air filter's bad. was gonna do a oil change, new plugs and filter in about a month just for piece of mind, but now i dont wanna wait.

Well just last night the big thou took 4.3 gallons and it had run 197 on the clock... lets see thats 45.8 MPG! And yes I beat the tar out of it most of the time but it is a commuter during the week. Most of those miles where spend on one wheel... For I must maintain my squid title. I recall getting around 230 on a tank on trips... and that would be 53 MPG... It doesnt seem possible but thats the math.

I just about coasted into the Sunoco yesterday on serious fumes..I put the reserve on, on my way to work the previous morning and then forgot about it till I looked down on my way home and was like.. oh shit!! I think I probably would have been ok for another few miles or so but I was definitely pushing my luck.

There is nothing wrong with the out of gas push... at least then its the owners fault and not the bike!!

oddly enough, this last tank im at 140miles, and the fuel light hasnt come on yet. last few tanks, the light came on at 126-127 each time.
only thing i changed was now when i get on the freeway for those 5mins, i make sure i see triple digits on the speedo. same gas, same destination, nothing else changed. i just rip it up to 85, do a quick check of my surroundings (its 4am) and then open it up alil more and cruise at 105 for alil bit-barely a min, cuz then the freeway ends and i make two sweeping turns and im at work. 12mins total trip this morning. it does have the stock filter on tho, still probably gonna change it.
